The Recruiters Turn
When interviewed, a recruiter at Robert Half Technology offered the following:
- When working with a recruiter, stick with one or two and help them to get to know you. Employers who receive resumes from more than one agency will eliminate those resumes from the running immediately.
- A two or three-page resume works well. Repeat skills in many places. The success of the one-page resume is a myth.
- Education and certification will set you apart. Don’t eliminate these from your resume.
- LinkedIn is used sparingly when looking for candidates, mostly to skim for skills.
- If you have been out of the job market more than 6 months, consider a 30% salary cut just to get back into the game.
