Call
for Phoenix Judges
The 4th
Annual Southwest Regional Publications, Art, and Online Competitions need volunteers to
judge the entries. The Phoenix Chapter is recruiting judges
for about three teams, and you are invited to serve as a judge in this
year's competitions. Share your expertise, see examples of our
craft, make new contacts, learn from other judges, and help
improve the quality of technical communication.
Judge Duties
- Attend the judge
training session. You will also pick up your entries at this
session. If you cannot make the training session, you must
make arrangements to pick up the entries at another time.
- Evaluate the entries in a
specific category. You will fill out a scoring sheet and
provide comments.
- Attend a consensus judging
meeting to discuss your entries with two other teammates
who have judged the same entries and turn in scoring and
commentary materials.
Descriptions of all
categories can be found in the rules document (see the
SAZ
Competition pages).
Technical Art Judges Needed
The following describes the
types of judges for this year's competitions:
- You should have
experience as a user or producer of technical art
communication.
- For online art entries, you will need the
use of an Intel-based or Macintosh personal computer with
Internet access to evaluate entries before the consensus
meeting. (This needs further research since some of the
categories have changed.)

Application form. You can also download a copy of the
flyer (Word, PDF)
