Phoenix
Chapter Seeks Member Nominations for Administrative Council
Positions
The STC Phoenix chapter Nominating
Committee selects candidates for the chapter administrative council.
These nominations are voted on by ballot in April. Positions on the
chapter administrative council that are elected are president, vice
president, secretary, treasurer, programs manager, and membership
manager. A seventh member of the chapter administrative council, the
immediate past president, becomes a member automatically after their
term as chapter president ends. Non-administrative council positions
are two nominating committee members.
In addition to nominations given to
the president by the Nominations Committee, member nominations can
be made by chapter members for vice president, secretary, treasurer,
membership manager, and programs manager. This process is outside
the Nominations Committee. The bylaws state that: "Nominations
may also be submitted to the chapter president by members of the
chapter. Such additional nominations must be made in writing and
must be signed by at least five voting members of the chapter. They
shall reach the chapter president at least four weeks prior to the
annual election to be valid."
If anyone would like to nominate a
person they feel will represent the Phoenix Chapter in all voting
and process matters at the monthly Chapter Managers and
Administrative Council (CMAC) meetings for 2006–2007, please get a
petition together in writing with the signatures of at least five
voting members. We will slate them along with the candidates from
the nominating committee.
If
you want to run for office, or nominate a member for office, please
contact Tim Eull, former chapter president, at 602-231-7469 or timothy.eull@honeywell.com.
Nominations must be written, signed by at least five members of the
chapter, and submitted by March 1. Our chapter bylaws permit more
than one candidate for each of the offices except the president.
