Conference Planned for November 11-12 in Phoenix
Do
you have an oasis of experience or expertise that ensures your resilience,
survival, and success as a communicator of technical information? If so, the STC
Phoenix Chapter and the STC Instructional Design and learning SIG invite you to
the 2005 Region 5 Conference to share what you know.
Organizers of the conference, which will take place November 11 and 12 in Phoenix, seek speakers who can discuss such technical communication topics as:
E-learning design and development
Single-source documentation
Information design
Usability and human factors
Web design and publishing
Graphics and visual design
The tools of the trade (software, processes, basic and advanced skills)
The Call for Proposals is available on the conference Web site at www.region5conf.com. Proposals are due no later than June 15, 2005.
About the Phoenix Chapter
The STC Phoenix Chapter Community (www.stc-phoenix.com) includes more than 230 members who work in a variety of industries for various public and private companies, government agencies, and small businesses. This award-winning organization annually provides dozens of opportunities for ongoing professional development and networking for technical communicators in the Phoenix metropolitan area, throughout the state of Arizona, and across the Southwestern United States.
About the Instructional Design and Learning SIG
The STC Instructional Design and Learning Special Interest Group (www.stcsig.org/idl/) helps STC members identify and develop knowledge and practical skills for designing, developing, and implementing technical instruction to electronic and traditional classroom settings. The SIG strives to promote sound design practices, to provide information, and to educate members about instructional theory and research.
