Steve Cascone

The newest Phoenix Chapter
associate fellow -- congratulations Steve!

Steve Cascone, an 18 year member of the Phoenix Chapter, has been named an associate fellow of STC. Steve's service to STC covers more than 13 years of his 18 years of membership. At the international level, he is best known for being a key participant in the development of a Society chapter leadership program. His work included managing the Leadership Training and Development Committee and active participation on both the Chapter Leadership Development Committee and the Chapter Operations Manual Committee. He was a driving force in the development of chapter leadership workshops, and he helped rewrite the STC Chapter Operations Manual. He also wrote a series of 26 articles on leadership for Tieline, which ran in nearly every issue for three years. Many of these articles have been reprinted and included as part of the chapter leader workshops.

Other work at the international level includes membership on the Nominating Committee and the Goals Committee and stem manager for professional development at the 42nd Annual Conference.

At the regional level, he led and promoted numerous initiatives to support
the creation of a Tucson-area chapter and was a conference officer for the Region 5 Conference in 1987. At the local level, he has held several
leadership positions, including two terms as president, vice president,
treasurer, and newsletter editor of the Phoenix Chapter. He has been a
member of the Audit Committee and judged the chapter's publication and art competitions.

Steve has received the Distinguished Chapter Service Award in 1993, Director-Sponsor Recognition Award in 1993, and Chapter President's Special Recognition Award in 1990.

The honor will be presented at the Honors Banquet at the STC Annual Conference, which will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, May 5-8, 2002. Steve is a Principal Consultant with
PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting's Learning Solutions Group based in Arlington, Virginia.
