CARSEF Once Again Successful!

The Central Arizona Regional Science and Engineering Fair (CARSEF) once again provided a fulfilling day for STC volunteers who judged student reports. 

Nineteen STC members spent April 16 at the Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, judging nearly 500 student reports.

Thanks very much to STC CARSEF volunteers!

STC award winners included:

Explorer Division (grades 5-6)

  1. "Oil Pollution: A Solution?" Mark Eisenberg, Phoenix Hebrew Academy
      
  2. "Which Soil Holds the Most Water?" Tracy Liu, Rancho Salano School, Scottsdale
      
  3. "Removing Stains," Lily Bukshpan, Phoenix Hebrew Academy

Investigator Division (grades 7-8)

  1. "What's Poppin' About Popcorn?" Anna Derbak and Sarah Cole, Pope John XXIII Elementary School
      
  2. "Jolting Volts," Elana Rosengard, Phoenix Hebrew Academy
     
  3. "Effect of Oil Film on Evaporation Rate of Water," Sylvia Kresock, Pope John XXIII Elementary School

Senior Division (grades 9-12)

  1. "The Effects of Balance Training on Older Adults," Christina Hobson, Red Mountain High School 
      
  2. "Visual Display of Musical Tones Incorporating Player Feedback," Max Yuan, Mountain View High School
      
  3. "Resource Allocation with Hybrid Dispatching Heuristics," Yen T. Yeh and Anson Wong, Westview High School
