April 7 Program Meeting: Intellectual Property in the Internet Age

Join us for an informational presentation and discussion on Intellectual Property given by Warren Johnson, Senior Attorney, Intellectual Property, at Early Warning. His experience with copyright centers on the tensions and dynamics of the Internet of things, the rights granted to an original author through copyright protection, and software licensing/protection. His presentation will include:

• Definition and brief history of Intellectual Property

• Intellectual Property and the Internet

• Preventing piracy

• Digital Rights Management and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act

Please bring any questions you have on this topic (or send them ahead of time); Warren will be happy to answer them.

Cost is $10 payable at the meeting. Bottled water and a light snack (cookies) will be provided. You may also bring your own food into the classroom. We will be in Building 1, Room 349 (Discovery).
